When it comes to wedding planning, you can choose a theme or a colour for your wedding. In this wedding shoot you can see the colour of lavender has been chosen as the theme and inspiration for the shoot. Lavender is a really great colour palette choice for spring and summer weddings. It’s light and bright, creating a lovely backdrop for weddings in these seasons.
The Floral Design
Flowers were a main point for this luxury lavender wedding shoot. These came through two main floral elements. There is the stunning floral archway which made the perfect setting for photos, and a frame for the wedding cake later in the evening. The archway was full of scented lilacs that looked and smelt both delicate and fresh.
The second floral element at this luxury lavender wedding shoot was the huge arrangement that was placed on the fireplace. This was a lovely flower display that grabbed attention and show off the authentic fireplace.
Meanwhile, the flowers on the table were kept simple and elegant. They tied into the wedding theme and incorporated the colours, but the focus was on the detailed styling so as not to detract from the wedding décor. These same flowers were also used in the grooms’ buttonhole.
A really nice touch in this luxury lavender wedding shoot was the bridal bouquet. It was full of spring blooms and textured foliage to add depth to the bouquet. Trailing silk ribbons were then added to the bouquet. This added a wonderful interest aspect to the bouquet. The ribbons look stunning as they move gently with the bride.
The wedding jewellery and hairpiece tied in with the theme, looking like beautiful lavender flowers and blossom petals. As you can see, the hairpiece really popped against the blonde hair of the bride and the hairstyle chosen.
Wedding dress wise, the crisp white stands out perfectly against the backdrop of creams, greens, pinks, lilacs and purples. A white dress definitely works better for a luxury lavender colour theme than an ivory dress would as it stands out against the colours, instead of blending in as an ivory dress might.
Have you considered how your dress will work with your wedding theme or colour palette?
The bridal bouquet was full of spring blooms & lots of textured foliage to compliment the other designs. I love adding trailing silk ribbons to a bouquet to add extra movement and interest. Ellice – Willow & Blossom
